Dr. Carlos D. Coton, A.A., B.A., M.S., M.A., D.D., Ph.D., bacause of academic content completion, was ordained
as Minister in 1989 with renewal vows in 2004 through St. Luke Evangelical Christian Ministries, Universal Life Church Ministries,
Universal Life Church Christian Fellowship and Rose Ministries. This was done for the educational content and spirituality
of the endeavor since he continues in his Catholic faith and it is there that he practices his ministry, not in any
other faith.
His Catholic ministry involves hospital, assisted living facilities and prison visitation as an Extraordinary Eucharistic
Minister, Catechetical teaching, particularly the Confirmation courses, Lector, hospitality ministry, home blessings,
continual prayer sessions and funerals and bereavement.
He has earned Master of Arts in Theology, Doctor of Divinity and Doctor in Biblical Studies degrees
in addition to his secular Associates of Arts Degree, Bachelor of Arts Degree, Master of Science Degree and Philosophy
Doctorate Degree. He continues his biblical studies and completes Ministerial programs on an annual basis. He is a Diplomate
in Discipleship, Diplomate in Deaconate and Diplomate in Ministry, Prophetic Voice Theological Institute.
He has completed the Faith Formation Ministerial Program at the University of Dayton through the Archdiocese of
Miami. Dr. Coton is the Coordinator of Religious Education for the parish. He is a Ceertified Catechist and he teaches
in the Catechesis program, coordinates the Sacrament of Confirmation process and edits and prepares the manuals
for the instructors and parents in the programs. He is in charge of the Altar Servers and Youth Ministries Program and
is a lector and Minister of the Eucharist, especially at the 6:00 o'clock mass, of which he is the coordinator.
He is the director of program for Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers who visit the sick and homebound.He is a
"VIRTUS - Protecting the Children of God" safe environment program facilitator. He is the Baptism Conference Facilitator for
the parish. He also chairs the School Advisory Committee for the parish and is a member of the search and screen committee
for school administration. Dr. Coton is also an Advocate in the Metropolitan Tribunal of the Archdiocese.
Dr Coton is a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus belonging to the St. Marcelino Champagnat Council is is the
liaison for the Council and the parish. He is also a member of the Cardenal Arteaga Assembly and is a member of the Board
of Directors of both the Council as its Grand Knight, District Deputy for the State of Florida Council and is the Faithful
Navigator of the Assembly. He is the cChairman of the State of Florida College Councils.Dr. Coton is also a member of
the Knights of Columbus Honor Guard. He was named the Knight of the Year for the state of Florida for 2020.
